Lego world @ Zwolle 2011

I had the marvelous opportunity to work at Lego World this year. Lego World is an event in the Ijsselhallen. Aside from displaying and selling the newest Lego sets, of course, it also gives people a go at building something themselves. The members of  ’de bouwsteen‘ displayed some of their work, which filled the halls with wonderful creations.

On most days I worked at the Lego Club stand, but  I also helped out at the building competition. The lego club stand had a mozaic that could be made per plate by children. And, if you wanted, you could sign up for Lego Club magazine. I signed up myself and received their mascott lego figure Max.

One of my favourite exhibition was this DS9 model made by folk from www.binarybricks.nl. It’s quite hard to find good Star Trek Lego out there so thank you very much for showing this.

My fiance made some awesome pictures of some of the Lego structures. Here’s a slideshow.

It was hard work, but for a Lego fan it was heaven. I must admit though, that working with lego for 8 days straight makes your ears resound with ‘Lego searching’ sounds…

Lego: 4191 The Captain’s Cabin

For my second installment of showing you the Lego at our home I have for you the Captain’s Cabin from Pirates of the Caribbean. This product was bought @Volgers in Heerenveen a couple of months ago. (also available @Lego.com)

The thing with these small lego sets is that you buy it for particulair lego pieces or parts of the sets you really like, but not necessarily for the entire product. Last time we really loved the space helmet, this time it’s the globe. After buying this one we soon decided to spend a lot of money on the Pirate ship of the same series, which I’ll show you some time later.

Of course Captain Jack Sparrow is also quite amusing. A friend of mine (@Pike’s Kayals & more) played the Lego game in which the Lego Jack Sparrow has the same silly walk.

You gotta love Lego.

Lego: 3365 Space Moon Buggy

I promised I would upload Lego photos regularly. I finally got around to take pictures and upload them. Well actually, most pictures were taken by my boyfriend…

The Space moon buggy was bought @Volgers in Heerenveen. I think you will find that most of the new sets are bought there. The Buggy is a basic model. It’s from the ‘small presents’ category. Since we’re both sci-fi fans we thought it was a simple but fun product. 3365 is still available online @ lego.com

The best part about this model is the moonwalker and his suit. The helmet is pretty awesome. It was probably the most important reason we bought the buggy.

The buggy itself is not really that interesting. It’s design is something similar to one of those cars you used to make with the box of random Lego you had.

Nevertheless, it’s a simple and affordable product. Besides, you just want the helmet anyway. :p

Now, I proposed to my boyfriend some months ago already, but I still want to give you all a small report of the process. After all a woman proposing to a man is still slightly uncommon.

I made a video of the process as well some pictures.
